These beautiful, red clay, public courts are located along the Hudson River in Manhattan's Riverside Park, set among the lush lawns and flower gardens between the West Side Highway and the Hudson River Greenway (bike path) near 96th Street.
Approached by bike or foot, the courts can be reached directly from the Hudson River Greenway which runs along the west side of Manhattan. From the Upper West Side, through Riverside Park, the courts can be approached via the pedestrian tunnels that run underneath the Westside Highway at 101st and 91st Streets.
There is a free parking lot at the courts. The parking lot is just off the southbound entrance ramp to the West Side Highway at 96th Street. There are two approaches:
1. Drive west on 96th Street to the very end. Pass underneath the Riverside Drive bridge and continue west. The road bends to the right going north onto the West Side Highway. Stay in the right lane and take the exit marked SOUTH. The road then loops under the highway and begins to go south. Off to the right, you'll see the parking lot entrance.
2. Going NORTH on the West Side Highway, go past the 96th Street Exit and take the next exit (about 100 yards) marked SOUTH. The road then loops under the highway and begins to go south. Off to the right, you'll see the parking lot entrance.
If you are going SOUTH on the Highway above 96th, you'll have to exit the Highway at 95th Street. Take 95th one block to West End, turn left and turn left again onto 96th Street. Follow the directions above.
